Naoko Takeuchi

 

 

Naoko Takeuchi (武内直子 Takeuchi Naoko) is a manga artist (Mangaka) who created Sailor Moon, Codename Sailor V and many other manga. She has many other series such as Prism Time, Chocolate Christmas, Maria, The Cherry Project, Miss Rain, PQ Angels and Love Witch.  Takeuchi's works have a wide following among anime and manga fans worldwide. Sailor Moon, her most popular work, rose to become as of 2011 one of the most recognized manga and anime products to date.

 

Born 15 March, 1967 and lives in Tokyo Japan. Her parents are Kenji and Ikuko, and she has one sibling, a younger brother called Shingo (she named Usagi's immediate family after her own). She is married to Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter, and they have a young son whom she refers to as "Petit Ouji" (プチ王子), which means "Small Prince.

 

As well as creating the Sailor Moon universe, Takeuchi wrote the lyrics to several songs featured in the Sailor Moon anime and live action series, some of which are: "Princess Moon," "Tuxedo Mirage," ""Rashiku" Ikimashou,"  "Sailor Star Song" and "Over Rainbow Tour".
